I’ve had a very good audition season this year – I shall be singing the lead in ‘HMS Pinafore’ in April and one of the leads in ‘The Tales of Hoffmann’ in May 2013. I’m really enjoying rehearsals at the moment, and cannot wait to get into blocking these shows after Christmas!
On Saturday, I performed with Bristol Gilbert & Sullivan Operatic Society in a concert in Westbury-on-Trym, where I performed, amongst other things, one of the solos from ‘HMS Pinafore’ – and received extremely positive comments and feedback! I am now even more excited for April – let’s hope the rest of my performance is received as well!
Before Christmas, I shall also be singing as Soprano Soloist for Boston Choral Society, Shirehampton Area Choir and Clevedon Choral Society. I’m very excited to be singing with such good musicians, and I am looking forward to working with them in the future (I hope!).
Finally, I am continuing to attend the Saturday Academy at the International Academy of Voice. As well as Patricia O’Neill who is running the course, we have also had masterclasses and audition sessions with Emmanuel Siffert, Geraint Dodd and Eldrydd Cynan Jones – I’ve received some very positive feedback from all, and I’m looking forward to seeing what the rest of the year brings!
